Procedure of study

This FIVE-HOUR course is further divided into five parts. The duration of each part is one hour. Each one-hour is consist of two parts.

FIRST ONE HOUR COURSE:

 

INTRODUCTION OF MS-WORD: duration 2 minutes

HOW TO ACCESS MS-WORD: duration 1 minute

Use mouse for click operation and usually click the left mouse button for normal operations.

To start new line of text. Hit the ENTER key

Double click on the short cut path, which is already present on the desktop.

Another way to access the MS_WORD. Click the start menu then go to programs submenu and double click on the MS-WORD.

HOW TO OPEN NEW DOCUMENT: duration 2 minute

Click on the NEW button, which is present in the standard tool bar. It opens the new document.

HOW TO TYPE TEXT ON NEW DOCUMENT: duration 2 minute

Type some text like the name, address, phone #

HOW TO DO REDO/UNDO OPERATIONS ON RECENTLY DONE OPERATIONS: duration 2 minutes

Click UNDO button on the standard tool bar to release all the changes, which have previously done.

Click the REDO button on the standard tool bar to repeat previous operation.

HOW TO SAVE A DOCUMENT: duration 2 minutes

Click SAVE button on the standard tool bar to save the document. When WORD goes to save the document it opens the SAVE WINDOW and asks the name of document, which it is going to save. Give the name of document and press SAVE button in the save window. Document will be save.

HOW TO CLOSE A DOCUMENT: duration 1 minute

Click the FILE MENU to open, and again click the close option on the file menu.

Another way to close the document, click on the cross button in the corner of the screen.

HOW TO EXIT FROM MS-WORD: duration 1 minute

Click the FILE MENU on the standard tool bar to open and again click the EXIT option to exit from MS-WORD.

HOW TO OPEN AN EXISTING DOCUMENT : duration 2 minutes

To open an existing document, start the MS-WORD; click on the OPEN button, which is present in the standard tool bar.

Control goes to open an OPEN WINDOW. When window open Select the desired document and press the open button, which is present in the OPEN WINDOW.

ACTIVITY# 1:

Go to start menu, click there, select program option and then click once on MS-WORD.

Open new document and

Type some text like following document.

Save the document and give appropriate name to document.

Close document and exit from MS-WORD.

Try to open the existing document.

 

SECONED ONE HOUR COURSE:

LECTURE#2

HOW TO SELECT SOME TEXT: duration 2 minutes

To select some text, put the cursor on the beginning of the text press the left button of mouse, keep your finger on the button and drag till the end of the text. Text will be highlighting its mean it selected.

HOW TO SELECT ALL THE TEXT: duration 2 minutes

To select all the text of document, click on the EDIT menu then choose and click the SELECT ALL option. All text will be highlighting

HOW TO CUT, COPY, PASTE OPERATIONS ON TEXT: duration 4 minutes

If there is some mistakes, use cut operation to release these mistakes. Select some text and click the cut button. Text will disappear.

HOW TO ALIGN THE TEXT TO CENTER, LEFT, RIGHT AND JUSTIFIED: duration 4 minutes

Select some text.

To align the text in the center click on the CENTER align button.

To align the text in the left click on the LEFT align button.

To align the text in the right click on the RIGHT ALIGN button.

To align the text both left and right click on the justified button.

HOW CAN DO THE TEXT BOLD, ITALIC, UNDERLINE: duration 3 minutes

Select the text.

To do the text bold click on BOLD button.

To do the text ITALIC click on ITALIC button.

To do the text underline click on UNDERLINE button.

ACTIVITY#2:

Select some text like following document, perform cut, copy and paste operation.

Select all the text to align the text to left, right, center and justified like the following document.

Bold some text, underline some text and make the document in the following manner.

 

 

THIRD ONE HOUR COURSE :

      LECTURE# 3:

HOW TO CHANGE THE SIZE AND STYLE OF TEXT: duration 4 minutes

To change the style of the text, click a font name in the font box on the formatting tool bar.

To change the size of the text, click a size in the size box on the formatting tool bar.

HOW TO CORRECT SPELLING AND GRAMMAR OF TEXT: duration 4 minutes

        Word provides two ways to check spelling and grammar:

Word can automatically check the document and underline possible spelling and grammatical errors. To correct an error, select the text; click on spell checker button on the standard tool bar. Program control goes to open the spelling and grammar window, and point out the mistakes, then select the correction and click the change button, spelling will be automatically correct.

When finish a document, Word search the document for spelling and grammatical errors. When Word finds a possible error, correct it and then continue the check.

HOW TO CHANGE THE CASE OF TEXT: duration 4 minutes

       To change the case of text, or format text as all capital letters or as small capital letters. Select the           text you want to change.

On the Format menu click Change Case.

To change the text into capital letters, Click on the upper case option.

To change the text into small letters, Click on the lower case option.

HOW TO GIVE BULLETS AND NUMBERS TO SOME TEXT: duration 3 minutes

Select the items to add bullets or numbers.

To add bullets, click Bullets button.

To add numbers, click Numbering button.

       ACTIVITY# 3:

Make document in the following manner.

Change the case of text.

Change font style.

Make the text bold.

Give bullets and numbers.

Check the spelling and grammar of document.

FOURTH ONE HOUR COURSE:

HOW TO FIND A WORD AND REPLACE ANOTHER WORD: duration 5 minutes

On the Edit menu, click Find.

In the Find what box, enter the text to search for.

Click Find Next.

In the Replace with box, enter the replacement text.

Click Find Next, Replace, or All.

To cancel a search in progress, press ESC.

       HOW TO INSERT CURRENT DATE & TIME ON DOCUMENT: duration 2 minutes

Click where you want to insert the date or time.

On the Insert menu, click Date and Time.

To specify the format of the date or time, click a format in the available format box.

HOW TO INSERT PAGE BREAKS: duration 2 minutes

Click where you want to start a new page.

On the Insert menu, click Break.

Click Page break.

It inserts a manual page break at the insertion point.

HOW TO INSERT PAGE#: duration 2 minutes

On the Insert menu, click Page Numbers.

In the Position box, specify whether to print page numbers in the header at the top of the page or in the footer at the bottom of the page.

Select any other options you want.

HOW TO GIVE THE MARGINS TO DOCUMENT: duration 4 minutes

To change the left or right page margin, point to a margin boundary on the horizontal ruler. When the pointer changes to a double-headed arrow, drag the margin boundary.

To change the top or bottom page margin, point to a margin boundary on the vertical ruler. When the pointer changes to a double-headed arrow, drag the margin boundary.

HOW TO USE INDENTATION AND SPACING FOR PARAGRAPHS: duration 10 minutes

         Indentation?

         Text formatting of any paragraph.

         When you indent a paragraph, you can specify the distance of the text from the margins. By            using indenting, you can also offset selected paragraphs from other text in your document.

         HOW TO USE INDENTATION:

         To indent a paragraph, select a paragraph then open the FORMAT MENU, click on paragraph option then word opens the format window. In the format window there is indentation and spacing options and their sub options.

For increasing and decreasing left indent, click on left box.

For increasing and decreasing right indent, click on right box.

To give the special effects in paragraph, open the SPECIAL option box.

To give the spaces between paragraph lines, choose the spacing option.

To give single line space, click on single.

To give double line space, click on double.

HOW TO SEE THE PREVIEW OF COMPOSED PAGE: duration 3 minutes

        To show how a document will look when you print it, click on the preview button on the           standard tool bar.

To zoom in the preview, open the zoom box select how much percent to see your page preview.

        To close your preview window, click on close option on preview tool bar

HOW TO PRINT THE PAGE: duration 2 minutes

        To print the current page, click on the print button on standard tool bar.
